2007

• The Tyrell Media Corporation was pleased to be a Platinum Sponsor for the Yorkton Short Film and Video Festival and to be joining them in Celebrating their 60th Anniversary Celebration.

2008

• Tyrell Media Corporation was nominated for a Saskatchewan Showcase award for "Post Production Special Effects" for the Yorkton Short Film and Video PSA produced by Time Factory Films.

• Completed work on 6 safety commercials, "Go Safe", for Workers Compensation Board NWT/Nunavut.  These were all 3d.  Produced by Cinepost Films out of Saskatoon.  They featured 3 commercials that had to be translated into Inuktituk, this mean that some signs and logos in the ads had to be replaced.  The language, as it is written, is much larger in terms of pixel space. So much so that we had to modify the geometry of the models instead of just replacing the English versions.  Also the VO was different in terms of timing so animation needed to be adjusted as well. 

• Completed work on a 2 minute PSA for Help International  This is a 2d animated piece that illuminates the importance of using trees to cultivate stream margins.  Produced by Incandescent Films.

• We are moving to a new office space within a month just down the road from our current home.  The new space will be much larger which will be good as we are gearing up for a busy spring and summer.

• We are currently finishing up CG work on the series "Re-Inventors" Produced by Partners in Motion. It airs on History Television. http://www.history.ca/ontv/titledetails.aspx?titleid=115799

Spring

• The Tyrell Media Corporation is pleased to be a Gold Level Sponsor for the Yorkton Short Film and Video Festival and to be joining them in Celebrating their 61 years as Canada's longest running Film Festival.

Summer (July & August)

• It was a busy summer for us at Tyrell Media, we finished animation for "Re-Inventors" season II. Produced by Partners in Motion.

• We moved into our new space.  Much larger. 

• Otto completed an ad for the Olympics featuring a CG Birds Nest Stadium for MTV Asia.

• In partnership with Melcher Media we have just completed series of ads for SaskEnergy.  It involved creating a 15 second ad in the same style as the previous years campaign as well as make changes to 5 existing ads.

• We have just signed a contract to begin production on Season III of "Re-Inventors" season II. Produced by Partners in Motion.

• We are doing Special FX on a music video for a band called Rabid Whole.  We are doing a lot of shots for this including some skin deformation on the performers as well as tracking blank monitors to put some footage in them.  Should be quite challenging as they used tonnes of practical smoke and strobe lights. We are also going to be treating the footage as well. It was nice to see Chris Devitt again. He is a fellow alum from animation school. He was doing prosthetic make-up on the shoot.  I hope that we can work together in the future. He has many big screen credits doing SPFX make-up.  We start this project in mid September.  Josh Burns will be working on this with me and it should be a lot of late nights and hopefully a lot of fun.
